HOAM

HOAM is the musical brainchild of Jeroen 'Bartje' De Vos (bass player in L’itch, MakiMura, replacements in Hippotraktor,…), a multi-instrumentalist from Aalst who combines experimental synths with heavy guitars and fragile melodies. The band features an interesting lineup with members from Barvo/MakiMura/L’itch and Anna Lies (/Shevolver).

HOAM stands for 'Home Of Aging Memories’. Whether it's your first kiss, an unforgettable trip with friends, or the loss of someone important to you, these moments may only last for seconds, minutes, hours, or days, but they become memories that last a lifetime.

The songs are inspired by Jeroen's aging memories.

Expect heavy guitars, experimental synths and fragile melodies.

The first EP was produced and recorded in cooperation with the duo Tim Toegaert (Fleddy Melculy, Parlor, Janez Detd, Dearly Deported, Helmut Lotti, Johan Verminnen, Urbanus…) and Stef Exelmans (audio producer, musician in ATMOSPHRS, mixer, and sound engineer).

Singles

HOAM has released 4 singles. The first one is called "Broken Time". "Broken Time" is a song about incompetent leadership and about sheep following the wrong shepherd.

Our second single is called “Prayer,” a song about loss. This song is inspired by the loss of a family member of Jeroen, who was only 19 years old at the time. It is a literal prayer, asking God why life is as unfair as it is.

Our latest single is called “Darwin,” a song about demons, setting aside differences, and finding inner peace. At least, that's what we think! As a little experiment, we wrote this song and went with the first words that came to our minds, without making any changes to it at all (with the exception of some grammar). The subconscious soul, free to say what it wants to say.

A very special one is our cover of the song "Louie Bag", originally by Yebba. We made it our own and teamed up with an amazing singer from Ghent named Marie De Graeve. Her incredible voice elevates this track to a higher atmosphere.

What People Are Saying
